Mercer Holds Career Reentry Fair

On July 24, SCI Mercer held a Career Reentry Fair for nearly 200 inmates who were within two years of their minimum sentence dates.
More than 30 community participants – consisting of employers, vocational/technical schools, PA CareerLink, PA Department of Banking and Security, parole agents and reentry organizations – interacted with the inmates.
"What made this year's fair even more successful was the virtual reality headsets that inmates were allowed to wear," said Education Guidance Counselor Dan McGivern. "They displayed a real-world look at community corrections centers, which is where some of these guys will parole to."
