Bureau of Reentry Coordination

When supervising parolees, parole agents balance their enforcement functions with problem-solving case management in order to reduce recidivism. Conditions of parole are established to enforce the continuum of care needs, address higher risk issues, and provide structure and management of the parolee during the transitional period.

Prior to release, parole agents work with inmates to help prepare them for life in the community. While under parole supervision in the community, parole agents assist parolees with any help needed for job training and employment skills, referrals for treatment of mental/physical illnesses, referrals to drug and alcohol treatment programs, cognitive behavioral life skills classes and other needs.

The reentry process flowchart provides an overview of the entire parole process.
