PA Coat of Arms

A Quehanna Boot Camp graduate recently contacted the facility to thank staff members for the major impact they had on reshaping his worldview and his life.

The May 2023-graduate of QBC wrote:

“You all transformed what I anticipated to be a tough and lonely time into a period of valuable lessons and memories. After years of harboring only bitterness towards local officials, my time at the PA DOC has led me to no regrets. Had I been sent to county or received probation instead, I might have continued to believe that the entire system is corrupt. I now realize I would rather spend 18 months in prison than a lifetime harboring misguided beliefs. Additionally, my experience with parole was unexpectedly kind, debunking the fears instilled in me about constant violations being a major hurdle in Pennsylvania. It’s clear now that one has to deliberately commit a crime or blatantly break very direct and explicit rules to be violated.

"It may not always be apparent to you, but the impact you have on lives is profound. The Pennsylvania DOC taught me not to judge a book by its cover, guiding me through what began as the worst chapter of my life and transforming it into an invaluable lesson that no college education or any other institution, government or private, could ever provide.”
