Benner Township Holds Black History Month Program

Approximately 150 inmates attended a Black History Month program at SCI Benner Township on Feb. 27. The Keynote Speaker for the program was Dr. Harold Trulear, who is an Associate Professor of Applied Theology at Howard University School of Divinity. Trulear spoke about the injustices many African American leaders had to face and challenges they were up against—and yet, he emphasized, they perservered.
The program included a poem, music and remarks by Chaplain Henry Hansard.
