Waymart Hosts Day of Responsibility

On Nov. 1, SCI Waymart held its annual Day of Responsibility, which provides inmates an opportunity to reflect on their crimes and hear directly from victims about the impact their actions have. The day included food — made by the culinary arts program — as well as outside guests and speakers from the Office of Victim Advocate’s Resilient Voices program. A total of 10 speakers shared very powerful messages of how crime has and is still affecting their lives and how they cope with the pain. There were more than 185 people in attendance, including inmates, staff and guests.
