Erie CCC, Gannon University Partner to Update the Facility’s Resources Room

Erie CCC partnered with Gannon University’s corrections class to help the students gain a better understanding of community corrections. The students were tasked with coming up with a plan that would assist newly released reentrants with navigating the reentry process.

The students presented their ideas to Lt. Snyder, Counselor Selimovic, and Director Frith. Together they decided to create an updated Resources Room in the facility that is available to reentrants throughout the day. Gannon University students and Erie reentrants worked to turn the old, outdated gym into a brand-new room that contains information on local community resources. The room is a one-stop shop on where to go for AOD services, mental health counseling, employment, and food assistance.
