Division of Treatment Services Completes Recovery Quilt

Over the past year, the Division of Treatment Services has overseen the creation of a Recovery Quilt in honor of National Recovery Month to go with the theme “Join the Voices for Recovery: Together We Are Stronger!”
Each facility submitted a square made by incarcerated individuals housed on the Therapeutic Community Units — including a square made by an inmate at SCI Cambridge Springs for Central Office. The project was managed by the Drug and Alcohol Departments at the facilities with help from activities staff. Inmates drew sketches of their squares that were approved by DTS before being transferred to cloth. All squares were sent to Rose Tarquinio (pictured), a drug and alcohol treatment specialist at SCI Cambridge Springs who completed the quilt.
The quilt will make the rounds this year as it travels throughout the DOC for inmates to see and for everyone to be inspired by its message of recovery and strength through unity.
