The 2023 SCI Mahanoy Reentry Fair was held on Sept. 20. It consisted of 16 community organizations that came to provide services and resources to approximately 160 participants to help them when the time comes for them to leave prison.
Participants had an opportunity to talk with the vendors, ask questions and learn what help is available to them as they make a successful transition back into society.
Organizations in attendance included: Berks Connections and Pretrial Services, Breaking The Chainz, Bureau of Community Corrections, CareerLink, Department of Banking and Securities, Institute for Community Justice, Flagger Force, Geo Group, Jubilee Ministries, Liberty Ministries, OIC of America, Outreach Works, Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly, PA Housing Finance Agency, Second Chance Training Center, Small Business Administration and SOAR.
It was a successful event for both the vendors and the participants.
