Five people around a Christmas tree with donated presents under it

SCI Frackville collected toys and clothing for the Frackville Police Department, which assists  families in the Frackville area for the holidays.

Families chosen this year included grandparents raising their grandchildren, women who experienced violence, and one single dad. Children’s letters to  Santa were sent to the North Pole (police station), and each family is given an “elf” who responds to their individual letters. All selected families meet at the local Fire Company in which they are greeted by Santa and Mrs. Claus with their one wished toy. Food is also distributed, and Santa reads, “The Night Before Christmas.”

The families are also presented with cookies, milk (to put out for Santa the night before) and full Christmas dinner through gift cards to Walmart, Boyer’s and Redner’s.
