An inmate examines a new blue flowerbed box built by carpentry students

Students enrolled in the newly named “Level Up” Carpentry School at SCI Waymart used their skills to make flower beds and boxes for the Intermediate Care Unit (ICU).

Vocational students taught by Rob Pavlovich did a phenomenal job on this project. Approximately 20 students were involved, and now inmates in the ICU can experience the joy of gardening. Vitamin D and proper hydration yielded an abundant and beautiful crop, and staff and inmates alike marveled at the beauty in the enclosed green space.
