In Pittsburgh, a juvenile lifer reentrant who was released on parole in August 2019 has been thriving and making the most of his second chance. His parole supervision has been stellar, and he has been involved in multiple community initiatives — mostly involving his artistic skills.

The reentrant spent a year as an artist in residence working with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office. He is currently involved with a mural project for the 58th Carnegie Museum International exhibition at the Carnegie Museum of Art, and he recently organized an art workshop and community forum for those that live in the Hill District to discuss how public art can contribute to the community.

He also has artwork featured in a book to be published this year by the New Press. In addition, he is working on a mural project in Battery Park in Lower Manhattan, NY.  He is designing a series of stained-glass windows that will be attached to the wall in the Esplanade Plaza area of the park.
