Scranton Community Correction Center collected more than $1,000 worth of pet supplies in August to donate to Mureille's Place, a home-based rescue providing end-of-life care for senior dogs. Mureille's Place has been in operation since 2006. The non-profit is a no-kill rescue offering a safe haven for unwanted senior dogs until they are adopted or if unadoptable, a place to live out their remaining days with love, dignity and respect.
This sanctuary is located on seven wooded acres that include beautiful walking trails and plenty of safe fenced in areas to wander. Mureille's Place is an all-volunteer rescue with no paid staff, board members or government funding. All donations go directly to the rescue operation.
