Mercer VSU Holds Memorial Day Ceremony

The Veterans Service Unit at SCI Mercer held a special ceremony to honor Memorial Day.
The unit began in April 2017 at Mercer and currently houses 94 incarcerated veterans. The event began with a presentation of the colors by the VSU Color Guard, and two Vietnam veterans displayed the folded flag and memorial wreath.
Aaron Diaz, Mercer corrections counselor and veterans coordinator, gave the speech and words of encouragement, and Chaplain Sabella—a Navy veteran—led the prayer and the moment of silence.
