Forensic Treatment Center Passes Audit

SCI Waymart's Forensic Treatment Center (FTC) earned its Mental Health Licensure after an audit by the PA Department of Health, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

The FTC is a unit for all psychiatric inmates in the DOC.

Deputy Superintendent for Forensic Services Bobbie Bassett sent the following to the FTC team along with a collage of photos:

I would like to congratulate the FTC staff on a job well done! The FTC staff were once again recognized by the licensure team as leaders in mental health. This year's audit was a remote audit only, due to COVID. One thing that the auditors continue to be extremely impressed with is your ability to reduce restraint hours-even during the pandemic! The officers' and nurses' utilization of CIT skills to de-escalate situations is impressive!
