SCI Camp Hill recently sponsored a fundraiser for local animal rescue center, Speranza.
Speranza is located in Mechanicsburg and is known to rescue and rehabilitate neglected and abused dogs. The animal rescue is a non-profit rescue and rehabilitation center and sanctuary that is committed to saving abused and neglected animals. The name of the rescue means "hope" in Italian. This is the second fundraiser that SCI Camp Hill has sponsored for Speranza.
Staff at SCI Camp Hill collected a truck-full of items for the rescue to include food, bedding, cleaning supplies, toys and preventative medications. These items were received with great appreciation. A special thank you to PSS Danielle Tedesco for organizing the charity drive and for delivering the donations to Speranza.
Pictured is Jen Allison, who is a corrections employment vocational assistant at SCI Camp Hill. Jen generously volunteers her time at Speranza, and below she is seen with one of the dogs who is "helping" unload the donations brought in that day.
Editor's note: Jen was standing more than six feet away from other people while being photographed and removed her mask for the pictures.
