Waymart Honors Pair of Employees for Saving Choking Inmate

SCI Waymart recognized and commended CO Ryan Richardson and Forensic Registered Nurse Julia Sandercock for their heroic act that took place on Oct. 12.
They assisted each other in dislodging food by applying abdominal thrusts (the Heimlich Maneuver) to an inmate who was choking. Their quick and professional action prevented this incident from becoming serious—in fact, they may have saved this person's life. The dedication during the incident was outstanding from both these employees.
