The inmates who reside on the Senior Life Enhancement Program (SLEP) Unit at SCI Laurel Highlands crafted a variety of Mother’s Day cards and handmade roses that were donated to a local nursing home in Somerset.

The SLEP Unit is one of the newest programs at Laurel Highlands. It is a specialized housing unit for men over age 50 with favorable behavior. The inmates make self-motivated contributions to the unit, and it fosters an environment that is geared towards a more low-key lifestyle and age-appropriate activities.
