Somerset Honor Guard Represents DOC at Attica Anniversary Event

The SCI Somerset Honor Guard attended an anniversary event for the Attica Correctional Facility prison riot, which began on Sept. 9, 1971, and lasted until Sept. 13. By the end of the riot, 43 people had died, including 10 employees and 33 inmates. Major changes were made by the New York DOC following the event, and many of the changes were adopted by other systems.
