Chester Honors Anniversary by Opening Time Capsule

When SCI Chester was opened 25 years ago, a time capsule was buried to commemorate the occasion.
On Sept. 1, 2023, the staff at Chester held a BBQ to celebrate opening the time capsule.
Retired Deputy Superintendent Tom DeLoughery, who was one of the first 32 Chester staff members, was on hand to explain the contents of the time capsule, which included: patches, mugs, t-shirt and an original brick from the building given to each employee at the time of opening.
Chester staff will once again fill the time capsule and rebury it for another 25 years.
