Somerset Reentry Fair Connects Inmates with Community Partners

More than 150 incarcerated individuals participated in SCI Somerset’s annual Reentry Resource Fair on Aug. 29. The fair provided resources and networking opportunities to inmates who are within 18 months of their minimum release date. More than 20 various agency partners attended to provide information and meet with the attendees.
The Somerset education department also highlighted its Read to Your Child program, which is designed to foster a relationship between a child and their parent through a shared reading experience. Participants are recorded reading a children's book of their choice, and the video is sent to their child along with a copy of the book.
