In honor of Trauma and Mental Health Awareness Month in May and the DOC's Trauma Informed Initiative, the Division of Treatment Services held a design contest among the DOC's prisons to create pamphlets, posters and other materials for distribution to the general population. The contest was offered to the Certified Peer Specialists, Veterans Service Units and House of Healing/House of Hope inmates, and the theme was focused around the importance of addressing trauma symptoms so individuals could live healthier, happier lives.
Judges consisted of staff from DTS and psychology, and they chose a pamphlet and poster from CPS and VSU submissions and a poster from the House of Healing. Although originally told there would be no prize involved, each winner did receive $10.
The winning submissions were sent out to psychology managers at each facility to use throughout the prisons. The winning submissions came from the following institutions:

Best Pamphlet: SCI Cambridge Springs
