Waymart Honors Veterans Day

On Nov. 8, a Military Appreciation Day was held at SCI Waymart in the auditorium for all staff in honor of the upcoming Veterans Day. Waymart's Honor Guard commenced the service with Superintendent George Miller giving opening remarks following a sermon by Deacon Lorent and Guest Speaker Brian Delaney. Cake, made by our culinary students, with refreshments was served. A special invite was given to Lee Anne Pugliese, the widow of George Pugliese who was killed in Iraq in 2005. Lee Anne attended with her sister Sherri and brother-in-law, Steve. After the service, honoring all who gave, a private laying of a wreath was held at the Pugliese Memorial Site.
