Waymart COT Recognized for Life-Saving Actions

SCI Waymart Corrections Officer Trainee Benjamin Stiles received a letter of commendation from Superintendent Mark Wahl to recognize his efforts to save an inmate who was attempting suicide. Stiles immediately reported the situation before rendering lifesaving first aid to the inmate before medical staff could respond.
“Your vigilance on the housing unit and your immediate actions in this incident were outstanding,” the letter from Wahl read.
