DOC Captain Honored for Life-Saving Actions

On Oct. 4, Capt. William Zosky was presented with a special letter of commendation by the Secretary of Corrections, Dr. Laurel R. Harry.
Capt. Zosky, who is part of the DOC’s Critical Incident Management Division, was recognized for putting his skills and training into action when he intervened in a potentially catastrophic and deadly situation while driving from SCI Greene. He noticed a tri-axle dump truck drifting backward with the driver slumped over the wheel. Captain Zosky immediately stopped his own vehicle and intervened to keep the dump truck from drifting into traffic. He then contacted emergency services and performed CPR on the truck’s driver, undoubtedly saving the man’s life.
