On June 27-28, Luis Resto (Division Director for Reentry Services and Housing) attended the National Reentry Housing Symposium – Zero Returns to Homelessness in Washington, D.C. The event was hosted by The Bureau of Justice Administration in partnership with US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Counsel of State Governments Justice Center. The purpose of the symposium was to bring together federal, state and local leaders and reentry housing practitioners to work together toward the goal of zero returns to homelessness for the reentrant population.

Resto participated in a workshop titled “Key Topics in Reentry Housing.” As a Second Chance Act Pay for Success Grantee, he represented the DOC as a panelist in discussing the DOC program design for the Reentrants Attaining Community Housing (ReACH) program. Resto discussed the development, procurement process and eligibility requirements for participants of the program. Resto anticipates launching the ReACH program later this month.
