Crawford County Reentry Partner Recognized by Parole Staff

​During the Crawford County Mental Health Fair on April 4, Sam Barco of the Forensic Boundary Spanner program was recognized by parole staff for his exceptional work with SCI Cambridge Springs and SCI Muncy.

Barco is a blended case manager who evaluates inmates to see if they meet the criteria of the Forensic Boundary Spanner program. He helps them with the necessary paperwork and follows them into the community to ensure they are getting the most out of the program.

Reentry Parole Agent Marnie Sommers and Parole Agent Kaylene Carson surprised Barco with a Certificate of Meritorious Achievement for his dedication and assistance with SCI Cambridge Springs inmates. He also travels to SCI Muny to help individuals there, and he works with inmates at Crawford County Jail as well. He also conducts monthly mental health meetings in the community.

The Forensic Boundary Spanner program was developed by Crawford County Human Services to provide support and assistance to individuals involved with the justice system so they can succeed in their reentry. It assists individuals who return to Crawford County and is a free, voluntary opportunities for reentrants.
