Four SCI Waymart employees dressed down on March 30 to celebrate CASUAL Day — with CASUAL abbreviated for Colon Cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives.

The event is in conjunction with March being Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and Waymart’s Linda Meyers and Eileen Hager led the facility’s efforts to help the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute (NRCI) raise awareness for colorectal cancer and the importance of screening and early detection. Donations help the NRCI fulfill their mission of easing the burden of cancer and proceeds from the CASUAL event benefit the NRCI’s efforts to raise colorectal cancer awareness and support colorectal cancer screenings for low income, un/underinsured individuals.

This is the 20th year of this awareness campaign, where participants dress casually and purchase and wear socks or a t-shirt supporting the cause — with proceeds benefiting the NRCI. Superintendent Wahl, CCPM McDermott, Parole Agent Meyers and Administrative Assistant Krissy Quinn proudly supported the event.
