DOC Brings Back Internship Program

This summer, the PA DOC launched a new and dynamic internship program aimed at bolstering the department's intelligence and security teams. The 10 interns spend their days gathering intelligence and working on special projects. They are based in Central Office, SCI Laurel Highlands and SCI Dallas. The interns are students at Penn State, St. Francis University, Ferrum College and Bloomsburg University.

The interns have also been given a robust calendar of trips, events and tours to expose them to all the opportunities available within the agency and state government. From tours of state correctional institutions, community corrections centers and regional parole offices to a meet-and-greet with Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary John Wetzel, the interns will receive a full educational experience.
