EARLY INTERVENTION What is Early Intervention? All children grow and change at their own pace. If you have concerns about your child’s development, Early Intervention can help. Early Intervention offers services and supports designed to help families with children from birth to age 5 who have developmental delays or disabilities. Early Intervention helps children grow and develop through services and supports, which may be provided: . At home . In a family member’s home . In a child care . In private or public preschools . In Head Start and Early Head Start programs . In a combination of several programs . In the community How Does It Work? Parents and caregivers who have questions about their child’s development may contact the CONNECT Helpline at 1-800-692-7288. The CONNECT Helpline assists families and caregivers in locating resources and information on child development for children ages birth to age 5. How Much Does It Cost? All screenings, evaluations, and services are free to all families regardless of income. What Services Are Available? Early Intervention provides many supports and services for parents or caregivers. Depending on your child’s individual needs, he or she may be eligible to receive other Early Intervention services, such as: . Speech Therapy . Physical Therapy . Occupational Therapy . Social Work . Service Coordination .
