Smithfield Hosts Blood Drive

On August 6, SCI Smithfield hosted a joint American Red Cross blood drive along with SCI Huntingdon staff.
"This blood drive was record-breaking at this facility," said Superintendent Assistant Lisa Hollibaugh. "From the 36 employees who signed up to donate blood, 29 units of blood were collected."
Each unit of blood has the potential to save three lives; therefore, in essence, with this blood drive, staff's donations could potentially help save the lives of 87 people.
"We are extremely thankful to our staff for their generous donations and look forward to breaking through the bar next drive." Hollibaugh said.
