DOC’s Medical Records Going Digital

Thanks to the
implementation the electronic health record (E.H.R.) project, the DOC is no
longer creating paper medical charts for newly-received inmates or Parole
Violators. New receptions and PVs will be processed using the
E.H.R. with any hardcopy documentation not captured into the system being
scanned and maintained among forms, diagnostics, progress notes, and all other
healthcare information. Additionally, healthcare information for
current inmates is being captured and stored in the E.H.R. with the historical
paper chart being referenced on an as-needed basis.
