Women's History Month: SCI Mercer

In honor of Women's History Month, the Department of Corrections will highlight some of the exceptional women who work for the DOC and the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. We are grateful for the wonderful women who work in Pennsylvania's criminal justice system.
Marcia Combine

Marcia Combine graduated from Penn State University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Individual Family Studies and has spent the last 30 years working for the Department of Corrections in many rewarding positions.
She began her career with the Department of Corrections in February 1989 at the Sharon Community Corrections Center (CCC) as a corrections counselor and was subsequently transferred to the Pittsburgh CCC while at basic training. She remained in this position until 1991 when she became the Region 3 referral specialist, which was one of three positions created in the Bureau of Community Corrections.
In 1993, Marcia was promoted to the center director position at the Sharon CCC where she remained until becoming the regional director for Region 3 in June 2005.
In March 2014, Ms. Combine began working as a Unit Manager at SCI Mercer and remains in that capacity until this day.
