The DOC Mentoring Committee held a lunch-and-learn on May 9 to celebrate the first year of the newly revived mentoring program. The event was held at Central Office, but mentoring committees from the prisons participated virtually via Teams.

U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Eldon Beck shared about his experiences and how important mentoring can be. Each mentor/mentee received a certificate to commemorate completing a year of the program.

At Central Office, there were a total of 11 pairs of mentors/mentees, and over the course of this last year, they met and built relationships. The event highlighted the importance of mentors and how mentors can help shape mentees.
