On April 29, the SCI Waymart Impact of Crime class — led by Brian Delaney, Denise Bomba and Michelle Spataro — participated in a three-point contest versus the therapeutic community, which were led by Jeff Dengler, Kate Lavelle and Sara Church. The goal was to bring awareness to National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

The 2023 theme — Survivor Voices: Elevate. Engage. Effect Change. — calls upon communities to amplify the voices of survivors and commit to creating an environment where survivors have the confidence that they will be heard, believed, and supported. Participants took the theme for the week and made four teams: Team Survivor Voices, Team Elevate, Team Engage and Team Effect Change. Out of the four teams, Survivor Voices won with 14 successful shots for a total of 42 points. However, the TC beat the Impact of Crime class overall 48 to 45. Bragging rights was the prize for the winners, and everyone enjoyed a little popcorn after the game.
