Benner Township Celebrates Graduates

On April 26, SCI Benner Township held its first in-person graduation ceremony since 2019.
This was a unique group of graduates as some of the men have been waiting to attend graduation since March 2020 prior to the pandemic lockdown. Graduates demonstrated the tenacity to achieve their goals during the pandemic with in-cell packets and individual sessions with their instructors on the housing unit.
There were 37 vocational and education graduated recognized and more than 20 family members in attendance to cheer them on — along with numerous staff member present to celebrate the event. Photos were taken and provided via IGWF, and refreshments were provided by the Culinary Department. Rocco Scalzi, founder of the Beating the Odds Foundation, was the esteemed guest speaker.
