Cambridge Springs Automotive Students Refurbish Decks for PA Fish & Boat Commission

SCI Cambridge Springs has had a long-standing partnership with the PA Fish & Boat Commission. During the past several years, the prison automotive program has assisted with vehicle repair services of PA Fish & Boat Commission equipment, wherein they pay for the supplies and  automotive program participants provide the labor.

This year, Cambridge Springs was tasked with a unique opportunity by the Commission: to refurbish boat docks in obvious need of a facelift. Robert Yaple, Cambridge Springs automotive instructor, welcomed this project as it gave the inmates a chance to enhance some of their building skills and provided something new and different to work on.

The end results were amazing, and the team took great pride in making something new again — which is what the spring season is all about!
