Reentrant Earns Certification, Thanks Waymart Education Team for Support

​Ernest Johnson is a reentrant who earned his Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma (CSSD) at SCI Waymart. A CSSD is a high school equivalency credential available to Pennsylvania residents who have met specified educational requirements. Mr. Johnson didn’t attend the facility’s graduation ceremony, promising staff he’d send a photo when he earned something more upon his release.

Mr. Johnson recently made good on his word, sending these pictures to the SCI Waymart education team to celebrate his graduating with a certification in Automated and Manufacturing Trades through the Philadelphia Technician Training Institute! He credits his CSSD with being the key to earning this new certification and setting him on a path toward gainful employment.
