Coal Township Inmates Donate to Support Local Students

On Oct. 26, SCI Coal Township inmate organization TRIUMPH held a luncheon to present donations to local school districts. The organization, through various sales, raised funds to purchase items for students in local school districts, and they also donated $2,000 to Shamokin School District’s Strengthening Families Program.
To Mount Carmel Elementary School, TRIUMPH donated 80 pairs of Under Armour sneakers for children. To Shamokin Elementary, TRIUMPH donated 24 winter coats, 30 backpacks and 40 pairs of uniform pants for children in need — in addition to the $2,000 to Strengthening Families Program.
