On Oct. 7, SCI Waymart employees stopped by the Wayne County Fairgrounds to volunteer at the annual Sustainable Energy Education and Development Support (SEEDS) Book Swap for their #12MonthsOfKindness campaign. The event supports recycling and literacy in the community and is only possible with the support of volunteers like those from Waymart.
Thousands of books are dropped off for the community to swap and share, and Waymart volunteers greeted and directed people dropping off books. They unloaded, counted and moved books to the sorting tables, then separated them into categories and placed them in the right sections. Nearly 40,000 books were donated by the end of the day, and all are given away for free to anyone who wants one.
