Parole Agents Attend Local Recovery Fest

A trio of parole agents attended the Northumberland County Drug and Alcohol Recovery Fest, a day held for the community to get together and celebrate those who have found their way out of addiction with the help of drug and alcohol resources. The event also celebrates those who live with mental health challenges.
The event was held in Sunbury, and many county and state service providers were available to share resources available to help people who struggle with these issues.
Community Reentrant Parole Agent (CRPA) Amy Ramiza showcased the DOC’s reentry curriculum and explained Carey Guides. She explained how CRPA’s connect the DOC population to needed resources and how making new connections with local providers help the CRPA to better serve the reentrant population. Ramiza spent the day with the Field Agent Adam Kusnerick (who covers Northumberland County) and Agent Elliott Defrancesco (who serves as the AOD agent that has Northumberland County). They answered a lot of great questions and received positive feedback from the participants at the fest.
