The DOC recently participated in the York Community Resource Fair to share information with York City residents about services and resources available to them. York Community Corrections Center Director Eric Arnold and Parole Manager Rosa Duncan were joined by representatives from Family First Health, York City Police, Bell Socialization Services, WellSpan Health, Pennsylvania State Police, the York City Bureau of Health, and others to share information about housing and shelter, low-income healthcare, substance abuse treatment, naloxone, and more.
Reentry and Bureau of Community Corrections staff work closely with providers throughout the commonwealth to support men and women upon release from incarceration. Events like the York Resource Fair not only connect reentrants and the general public with the support they need to prevent crime and recidivism, but also help the DOC create community partnerships that lead to stronger, safer neighborhoods.
Feedback from attendees was very positive and there are early talks about making this an annual event.
