While traveling on Interstate 80 near Clinton County, SCI Rockview Deputy Superintendent Scott Woodring and Lt. Dan Woodring (Central Office) came upon a state trooper who was involved in a traffic stop. The two brothers noticed the trooper appeared to be in distress; he was wrestling with the driver while trying to take him into custody. The two immediately pulled over and went back to offer assistance. Scott and Dan helped secure the individual before going to the trooper’s vehicle and using the radio to request PSP backup.

The trooper thanked the Woodrings for their help, explaining that he had been on the ground with the man for some period of time before they arrived. Scott and Dan were recently recognized by Sgt. Jonathan Wooster, Troop F – Lamar station commander, for their quick thinking and decisive action that helped resolve a potentially life-threatening situation.
