For the month of July 2022, the Scranton Community Corrections Center collected items for United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern PA, the area’s longest-running nonprofit. UNC’s sole purpose is to meet the needs of low-income families, seniors, youth and immigrants, while also helping them attain self-sufficiency.
Scranton CCC collected nearly $1,000 worth of school supplies including backpacks, notebooks, folders, papers, pens, pencils, crayons, lunch boxes and more.
UNC’s youth programs provide opportunities for at-risk youth to learn and grow in a safe, supportive environment. Through these programs, participants build confidence, self-esteem, learn leadership skills, and transition into successful, healthy adults.
