Waymart Holds Fundraisers to Support Colleague’s Daughter

While Corrections Officer Brandon Evans and his family are going through a brutally challenging time of their life, they aren’t doing it alone.
As Evans’ daughter battles a rare form of cancer called Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), the SCI Waymart team is supporting them however they can.
“Addie’s Army” consists of Waymart employees supporting the Evans family, and they have gotten creative in their fundraising programs. One event was races between corrections officers (called the Fat and Furious 100-yard dash), while another was buzzing off their hair in solidarity with Addie. They also are selling tickets to see the Scranton-Wilkes-Barre Penguins play the Hershey Bears with $4 from each ticket going to support the Evans family.
Waymart also held a holiday raffle and 50-50 drawing and sold bracelets that read “Addie’s Army.” There is a Wing-Off already planned for May 2022.
All funds are going directly to the family to help with treatment and travel expenses to and from Philadelphia.
