On Oct. 8, staff from the DOC's reentry office conducted a reentry simulation at Holy Family University in Newtown, PA, for criminal justice students and staff from Bucks County Probation and Domestic Relations.

The simulation is designed to give a realistic experience for community members and students by walking them through the first month of a reentrant's life after being released from prison.  Participants are given a budget and assigned tasks, and they must simulate what a reentrant must do to get a job, housing and more.

The experience gave participants a fuller understanding of the challenges reentrants face when returning from incarceration.
