Laurel Highlands Hosts Legislative Visit

SCI Laurel Highlands hosted members of the PA Senate Judiciary in August to meet with staff and inmates to discuss how medical parole could benefit inmates, the DOC and taxpayers. Visitors included: Sen. Lisa Baker, Sen. Art Haywood, Sen. Maria Collett, and Sen. Steven Santarsiero.
The legislators saw the dialysis unit, the personal care units and skilled care units. They came away with insight about how the department cares for geriatric inmates and those who have severe medical needs.
