Smithfield Hosts Legislators for Visit

SCI Smithfield held a legislative information session and tour on August 12. Distinguished guests in attendance were: PA Sen. Judy Ward; PA Rep. Rich Irvin; Michele Ivory, assistant for Sen. Ward; Walter Russell, assistant for Rep. Irvin; Kenneth Shea, Smithfield Twp. Supervisor; Aiden Conese, intern with Sen. Ward; Diana Woodside, DOC policy and legislative affairs director; Dwayne Heckert, DOC legislative liaison; Garrett Reiter, DOC administrative officer; and Doyland Gladfelter, Smithfield Twp. supervisor.
Following the information session with the administrative staff, the guests toured Smithfield's reception center, regional infirmary and several housing units.
